Jon
Growing up with the urge to hit anything with a pair of drumsticks, Jon knew he wanted be a drummer at an early age. He was introduced to the progressive rock band Rush who would eventually become his favorite band. Their drummer Neil Peart was the inspiration that got it all started for Jon. At the age of thirteen, he was finally able to sit behind a kit of his own. His passion for drumming rapidly developed, and he felt compelled to get serious. He started taking lessons and buying books and videos to expand his knowledge and improve his musicianship. Jon’s involvement in the high school marching, concert, and jazz bands helped broaden his style of playing. Besides Neil Peart, Jon’s other influences include Thomas Lang, Johnny Rabb, Mike Mangini, Marco Minnemann, Gregg Bissonette, and Rod Morgenstein. To broaden his perspective on the industry, Jon is studying Music Business at Hocking College. His abilities and pursuit to perfection keep the beat going for Mays Gone.
